Updates

Kaya is now almost seven months old (one week to go) and she weighs 12lbs 13oz. She has one little tooth poking through on the bottom, and she can sit up and roll over (back to stomach and stomach to back). She is not crawling yet, I think she will take a couple more months to get there. She is very energetic and spends much of her day rolling all over the house, and squealing (she is very vocal). I have been feeding her some veggies and rice cereal recently, and she seems to love all of it. Yesterday, for the first time ever, she sat in the grocery cart while I shopped. I buckled her in and she thoroughly enjoyed sitting there and surveying the different flavors of baby food I was buying for her. She even tried to pick up one of the little plastic tubs of food next to her, and she made this grunting sound like she was picking up something really heavy, and then put it down, as if it was just too much for her. It was so funny. I am also trying to teach her "don't touch", and sometimes she will listen and pull her hand away from something, but more often she just grins at me and keeps playing with whatever it is. The worst part is that if I try to use a somewhat stern voice, she just seems to think it is funny. I think she is going to be trouble. :) Chris made it through the semester with three A's, one B, and one C. Pretty good considering how impossibly hard his classes are. He is now working full time again for AutoZone, and trades his time between the Idaho Falls and Rexburg stores. I have been working a few hours a week for the same company I worked with before I had Kaya; Mostly I work at home, but sometimes I take Kaya in with me, or leave her home with Chris for a couple of hours. We are all looking forward to a fun summer and we are patiently waiting for the good weather so we can start spending our days outside in the sun!
She loves her books!

Sorry, but I just couldn't stop laughing at this little gem.....

Libby just loves her cousin Kaya. Two cuties!

Okay, I know this video is very shaky, but I had to hold the phone while I was recording, and she was laughing because I was wiggling, which therefore made the image shaky. My apologies, but I think that she has the cutest laugh, even if you can't really see her.

Kaya loves her veggies. Apparently she is only like Chris on the outside- she does not seem to share his deep aversion to all natural and healthful foods. :)

She does take after me in a few things. She LOVES to look at books. (side note- she is reading "The Mystery of The Pirate Ghost", an Otto and Uncle Tooth story)

These are just a bunch of various pictures from our cell phones....our camera does not work right now so this is the best we can do. :)

Chris working on a machine in his engineering class. He was figuring out the ultimate yield strength of some materials.

Grandpa and Kaya. He got her to snuggle with him and fall asleep. And she is not a snuggler! I guess she just loves her grandpa. :)

We decided to see what she would look like in glasses. He he he.....I love these pictures.

She didn't seem to mind at all. She just sat and looked at us through these cute little glasses.

I put this little bow on her, but she ripped it off within minutes. But it looked cute while it stayed on!

I was folding a bunch of laundry so I set her on top of the pile so she could watch. She seemed to enjoy watching while I did all the work. Maybe next time I will make her fold her own laundry. :)

So cute in her little snow suit! Nana (Chris' mom) bought this for her and she seemed to be quite comfortable in it!

Playing with her little lamb that Aunt Kibbey gave her for Christmas. She has almost succeeded in pulling the little ears off. :(

Sleeping beauties! I thought it was so cute when I saw that Kaya had put her hand on her daddy's cheek while she was sleeping.

She loves to chew on her fingers.

"It was this big" Maybe she is trying to measure her nose and see if she needs to be concerned about the size. Looks good to me. :)

Ha ha! I love this one. She was asleep and I looked over and noticed that her binky was stuck to her ear. Don't ask me how she got it there in the first place.

She loves to eat anything she can get in her mouth, and recently, this happens to be her feet.
